Harry Potter Drawings

Faith of GeekyZooGirl and Micheline of Lunar Rainbow Reviews are hosting the Harry Potter Month in July and I'm on board!  People can compete in the House Cup by accumulating house points.  I'll be earning said house points by posting about Harry Potter among other Harry Potter related activities! This year I will be representing Hufflepuff!

Earlier this month, I shared with you some of the Harry Potter Apparel I've collected over the years.  This collection is artwork and doodles that I've created, plus a couple of other things.

This one is from my cousin Sawyer when he was younger.  I don't remember the circumstances around receiving it, but it always makes me smile.  The fact that he drew this and gave to me says a lot about how I felt about Harry Potter back then, and how I still feel about it now.

This clip is from the one of the only contest I've ever won in my entire life, fitting it would be a Harry Potter book.  We had to answer a question and send it in, (it was about Prior Incantatem) and for some reason I was picked.  I didn't even realize I had won until I read that article and it was a fluke that I found it.  My mom happened to pick up a copy of the paper when we were at the library.

I got both of these at the Order of the Phoenix and the Deathly Hallows midnight book releases.  I love stickers and obviously I couldn't resist these!

When I was in my senior year of high school, some friends and I recreated the D.A.'s contract sheet for a party we were planning.  Fun fact, we asked different people to sign the character's names so they didn't all look the same.  One of the art teachers we asked to sign, declined claiming that he preferred to stay out of cult dealings.  (I still laugh about that.)

I made this Harry Potter puppet pal when I was on a mission trip as a senior in high school.  I was missing the release of Half-Blood Prince so I made this and carried it around with me and played with the kids I met.  It was quite fun even though several of my teammates rolled their eye at me.

This little sketch was drawn by a friend in college during a game of tele-draw.  Whenever I played, there always seemed to be a Harry Potter themed sentence. (I never wrote them!)  He's quite the artist even if he doesn't think so.

I drew this as part of a project collaboration that didn't work out, but I'm incredibly proud of how well this turned out.  It was going to be a mix of Doctor Who and Harry Potter, hence the picture.  I enjoyed sketching this very much.

I think this is the most intricate think I drawn in a very long time.  The animals aren't great, but I'm really proud of the rest of it!

This was a senior project during my computer graphics class in high school.  We were supposed to create a CD cover and this is what I came up with.  I mean, I'd listen to a band called Lily and the Lion-hearteds.  I had several different album options and these were my favorite.

  1. I love little kid drawings so much. Congrats on winning the contest! Very fitting prize LOL. I love the Snape is loyal sticker...that's not something I've seen yet. I think the idea to have a bunch of different people sign to recreate the DA signing sheet is a fantastic idea!! Do you remember which signatures you got to sign? I've had people say similar things to me as what your art teacher said. SMH. I like your drawings a lot. I'm working on some drawings now. I don't think people know how hard it is to draw banners, or scroll banners unless they've tried it. Thanks so much for sharing :D

    1. I was so convinced that Snape was loyal. (I can't remember exactly why I was so adamant. Possibly because everyone around me thought he was a traitor.) That night there were two different stickers. The loyal one and one that said something like Snape is traitor or bad or no good or evil or something. I don't remember exactly because I didn't pick one up.

  2. You got stickers?! That's so cool! My sister went to the Barnes & Noble book release party and it was no where near as cool as stickers ;)
I love the DA list and that your teacher didn't want to be a part of any cult dealings. Also, that Doctor Who/Harry Potter crossover drawing is awesome!

    1. I wish I remember when my cousin gave it to me exactly. I found it one day a couple of years ago. I showed it to them when I found it and he seemed really excited that I had kept it. But obviously I'd keep it because it was so cute! :)
