Harry Potter Moment of the Week: (#45)

hosted by Uncorked Thoughts and Lunar Rainbows Reviews.

If you could change one thing from book one, what would it be?

This is a difficult question.  hmm.  My first idea is to see a glimpse of younger Luna Lovegood because I think she would have been an adorable child, but then I remembered she's Ginny's age so we wouldn't have seen her in Sorcerer's Stone anyway.  (I'll just save that for Chamber of Secrets.)

I think I would change very little about the Sorcerer's Stone.  I would have Professor McGonagall be more involved in the story, though this is more of an across all the books change.  I love McGonagall and think she is a vital part of the kids upbringing as wizard and witches.  I would have loved to see more of her.

  1. More McGonagall sounds wonderful to me! Granted, the books are perfection and to be honest, I doubt I'd change anything about ANY of them, but knowing more about beloved characters (like her) would always be welcome :)

    1. I hear you. It's so hard to point out flaws (because there really are none) but I'm always up for more information and more time spent on other beloved characters. :D

  2. That's a great idea! I never really thought about it, but yeah, she would have been a huge part of their childhood. So it would have been great to see her a bit more in their younger years.
I had a hard time with this question as well. The whole series is just so great and perfect, there is very little I would want changed =D

  3. This week was definitely a tough one, I really struggled with it too, because the books are so great and it feels wrong to think about changing things! More McGonagall is a good idea though, seeing more of key characters can never be a bad thing right?!

  4. I definitely would have loved to have read more about McGonagall throughout the series, too, and maybe get a little more of her backstory. But, with so many amazing characters, I understand why they all couldn't be given equal page time, though if it had been possible, I would have read about every single character in depth!

  5. I agree that McGonagall is amazing. I would take more of her for sure. She definitely had a large impact on the students, and the glimpse of that would've been fascinating to see on a larger scale.
