Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest places, they glory in decay and dispair, they drain peace, hope, and happiness out of the air around them. Even Muggles feel their presence, though they can't see them. Get too near a Dementor and every good feeling, every happy memory will be sucked out of you If it can, the Dementor will feed on you long enough to reduce you to something like itself -- soulless and evil. You'll be left with nothing but the worst experiences of your life. -- Prisoner of Azkaban
But I couldn't have just normal chocolate, I had to put a bit of Harry magic into the mix. So I made these cute little wraps for each of the chocolate bars and since there were four of them, each one got a different house color! (Yay for unintentional house symmetry.) I will be munching on the Hufflepuff chocolate bar regardless of dementor interaction. It never hurts to be over prepared. ;)
You can't be too careful about where and when you might run into a dementor... Now I'm off to practice my patronus. *clears throat. Readies wand.* Expecto Patronum!
Awwww I LOVE how you crafted the chocolates to be Dementor ready! AND in the Hogwarts colours :D I'm glad you're still practicing your Patronus Charms though...chocolate may help (and be yummy) but it can only get you so far O.O This was fun^^ xx Happy Vacation in Hogwarts ♥
ReplyDeleteThat's very cute. I've never made any HP craft, though I did collect two embarrasingly HUGE folders with HP-related stuff: clippings, pictures, articles, posters, etc..
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your trip and stay clear off dementors despite being well-supplied with chocolate and well-versed in your Patronus Charm.
By the way, do you know the form your Patronus takes?
What a cute craft! And yummy too. My son and I went to Harry Potter World and just loved it. It's expanded since then so I really, really want to go back. I hope you've had a blast!
ReplyDeleteLove these- so clever! Is there anything chocolate can't help with, including recovering from a Dementor encounter? Not that I ever need an excuse to eat some chocolate, lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea! I may need to do something like this in the future. I'm having a Harry Potter Birthday Party at my library, and while I have it all planned (because it's like days away now(!!) I may want to implement this for next year. Do you have a preferred chocolate to work with? And do you think white and dark chocolate have the same effect against dementors?
