Harry Potter Moment of the Week (#8)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week hosted by Uncorked Thoughts.

Least Favorite Book:

I hate to even think of the books like this but if I had to choose a least favorite book it would have to be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  Harry is at his most annoying in this book, he often makes me angry, but not as angry as Professor Umbridge.  When I first read this book, I literally throw my book at the wall.  There is a dent in the wall to prove it.
Dolores Umbridge is a despicable character and her introduction to the series happened in Order of the Phoenix which is one more reason that it's my least favorite book.

  1. I'm one of those people who loved darker, moodier Harry xD BUT, Umbridge is more than reason to have strong feelings of anger and hatred, so the one book she's in will always take a hit because of it! Nice pick ^^

  2. Haha, yeah, I totally understand why you would choose it because she was such a pill, but for me, part of the reason why I like this book so much is because I LOVE to hate her. Lockhart was so benign and frustrating, but she was so awful that she galvanized people into actively acting against her. Without her, we never would have had those great moments with the DA and the Weasley twins. That pushed this one up for me! Here's my HP MOTW!

  3. Haha awww I enjoyed the teenage angst in Harry. I was fascinated by the visions he was having as well! Totally get what you mean about Umbridge though. Ugh!

  4. I understand completely where your coming from... but OotP is one of my favorites. Yes, Harry is really annoying and Umbridge is the devil (in pink), but there are so many things to make up for that. The DA, the Order, Neville, Luna, Tonks. It's the longest book in the series, so it can have both great and horrible bits.

  5. I always loved this book, because it's so long and so full of stuff going on inside and outside Hogwarts and because we get to see other parts of the wizarding world, but when I started rereading it some time ago right after GoF (and the uplifting note it finished on) I found it hard to stand the heavy mood.

  6. This is really understandable. I hated Umbridge myself, and Harry was a little prick most of the book as well. Plus it's a veeeery long book that can drag sometimes, especially when you reread it a bunch of times and know what to expect.
