Harry Potter Moment of the Week (#71)

hosted by Uncorked Thoughts and Lunar Rainbows Reviews.

If you could change one thing from the second film, what would it be?

I'm always going to talk about how much I wish we got the real Ron and not the caricature we see in the movies.

But I'm going to focus on some of the other things I wished were in the movies.
There are so many good scenes that didn't make it into the movie that I'd have to love see them there.  There are two because surprise I couldn't narrow it down to just one.

I miss Peeves.  He is an amazing character, and he's got so much purpose, even if we don't see it right away.  In this movie, we would have seen his ridiculous songs and rhymes, and we could have gotten a death day party.  And he wouldn't have gone missing in the later movies, where he plays a relatively important part of the plot!

Speaking of death day party, I wanted to see that scene!  I think the ghosts of Hogwarts didn't get nearly enough time in the movies.  They were an important part of understanding the past and helping with all the history Harry never learned because he grew up in a muggle home.  Nearly Headless Nick and all the other ghosts would have gotten a chance to shine in this scene.

  1. I totally agree! I'd love to see Peeves zooming around, singing rude songs, dropping things and creating havoc. I think his presence in the films would have made them really outstanding. And the death day party - I would definitely love to see that!

  2. Peeves and the Death Day Party! Awesome picks^^ Peeves was such an entertaining little devil and really, it wouldn't have been that hard to incorporate his character - even in the background! And I agree with you that the ghosts didn't get nearly enough time in the films, considering how important they are. The death day party wouldn't have taken up that much time either!
