Top Ten Tuesday: 2015 Author Debuts

hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

1. The Prey by Tom Isbell (January) - This is the start of a trilogy, which would normally have me cautious, but it does sound interesting.  Plus the cover is really cool.

2. Monstrous by MarcyKate Connolly (February) - It's described as Frankenstein meets Brothers Grimm, what's not to like!

3. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard (February) - People are separated by the color of their blood in this book.  The common folk have red and the special elites have silver.  If that's not an interesting concept, I don't know what is.

4. The Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury (February) - This book sounds intriguing and the cover alone makes me want to read this book.  Throw in the mix a girl with a deadly touch and I'm waiting impatiently for this one to come out!

5. Dove Arising by Karen Boa (February) - It takes place on the moon.  There's a colony on the moon.  I'm really excited to read some sci-fi in 2015, and this will be among the first.  It sounds really interesting and could be an excellent book.

6. The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey (April) - Not that this has anything to do with the book, but the author's hair is purple and that's really cool!

7. Becoming Jinn by Laurie Goldstein (April) - This cover is beautiful and I'm not sure I've ever read a book about Genies, so this is a book that I'm really interested in reading. I want it to be really good, so I hoping it will be!

8. Denton Little's Deathdate by Lance Rubin (April) - This book sounds like a comedy of errors. I'm looking forward to reading this one and I anticipate laughing quite a bit.

9. Made You Up by Francesca Zappia (May) - The main characters name is Alex and that right there is enough to make me want to read this book.  It does sound interesting beyond the name; I'm excited to read it.

10. Between the Notes by Sharon Huss Roat (June) - There's music, but not just any music, there's a piano.  I love books that center around music and so I can't wait to read this one.

  1. Made You Up is on my list too. I like books with unreliable narrators and the premise is really interesting.

  2. I keep seeing books I would read based on cover alone. "Made You Up" is interesting and gorgeous. Ditto "The Sin Eaters Daughter".
